White Rock Boathouse Rowing
In their inaugural season, the White Rock Boathouse Juniors rowing team competed in the novice division at regattas in Austin, Oklahoma City and The Woodlands and made an impressive showing in singles, doubles, quads and mixed quads. The season culminated at the five state regional regatta in Oklahoma City, where the Juniors placed three boats into the finals to wrap up a successful first year. Next year the team will be on the water competing in both the novice and varsity divisions. The team is under the direction of former SMU Rowing Co-Captain and Olympic hopeful, Meg Gaab. Competing in the fall long row racing season and the spring sprint racing season, the team is comprised of high school students from Woodrow Wilson, Lakehill Prep, DISD’s Science and Engineering Magnet and Bishop Lynch. The team will soon be enjoying their new state-of-the-art boathouse that is under construction at WhiteRockLake. The juniors program is sponsored by White Rock Boathouse.
