Saint Paul the Apostle of Richardson’s Boy Scout Troop 728 is hosting their Annual Father’s Day Weekend Hole-in-One Golf Shoot-Out.
The Scouts are hoping for a large turnout this year for their annual Hole-in-One Golf Shootout! The shootout is held on Father's Day weekend at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 S. Floyd Road in Richardson. Tickets are $5 for every five (5) shots. You can come take your shots on Saturday and Sunday (June 14-15) between 8 am and 6 pm. The top 10 finalists who are closest to the pin from these qualifying days will have a chance to shoot for a $45,000 hole-in-one on Monday, June 16th. The number of shots each finalist gets will depend on his or her rank. Each finalist who makes a hole-in-one will win a $45,000 cash prize! Other prizes will be awarded to the top finishers.
All proceeds from the "golf shootout" support the troop’s yearly operating expense budget. Expenses for the Troop consists of purchasing of merit badges, rank insignias, replacement gear, camp fees, and transportation. Even community service efforts cost money. Add to that the additional expense to replace camping gear that was stolen from the troop trailers on April 27th, and the Scouts have a renewed sense of respect for earning every dollar to continue Scouting activities.
The Scouts would like to invite the community to come out, visit with the Troop, sit a spell, hit some golfballs for a good cause, and maybe start your week with $45,000 in your pocket.
