Boomer Jack’s Grill and Bar might have won the 2008 Neighbors Choice Award for Best Neighborhood Bar, but the popular spot in Valley Ranch also has many award-worthy meal options on the menu.

“When we created the concept, we threw out all the things we don’t like about restaurants,” owner Brent Tipps said. “We don’t like food that comes out of a box; we want fresh food. People want great food, a great experience and great service.”

If you’re looking for those three things, you can find them at Boomer Jack’s; their food is delicious, they have an awesome spot on MacArthur Boulevard overlooking Dallas (which makes for beautiful scenery at any time of the day) and their staff is always on point.

Hector Barron, the chef on duty at the time of my visit, cooked up one of the restaurant’s creations—the tasty, seasoned cheddar burger. That burger didn’t stand a chance against me and regional director Randy Brown.

Brown came to Boomer Jack’s after working in the restaurant industry for 20 years and enjoys working with an entrepreneur.

“Brent was running [Boomer Jack’s] all by himself when I met him,” Brown said. “[Business] just took off. I make decisions daily that affect the company.”

In addition to serving up tasty food, Boomer Jack’s has daily happy hour and lunch specials. If you’re a regular at the neighborhood grill, you might also notice new menu items like jumbo shrimp and steaks.
