The 2008 Neighbors Choice edition of neighborsgo is here!
Saturday's print editions are packed with your recommendations for the top businesses, services and activities in your communities.
No one knows your community like you do, which is why this particular edition is such a treat – the nominees and the winners were selected by you.
In addition to Choice coverage, you’ll find the usual assortment of stories and photos that you’ve come to expect every week in neighborsgo – articles and photos about your community and your activities told in your words and images.
Since April 2007, neighborsgo.com has provided you with the tools to share your stories, photos and videos with us. You post text and images online, and neighborsgo editors publish the timeliest, most relevant material in one of our 18 print editions.
This partnership between readers and editors has proved fruitful – to the tune of 2.6 million page views, 15,000 stories, 12,500 photos, 3,500 blog posts and more than 400 videos.
But numbers only tell part of the story. Our great neighborsgo.com contributors tell the rest.
Folks such as Kip Watson, the Frisco mom and Football Chick who turned her dream of playing professional football into a reality.
Business owners like Marie Tedei, whofiled a firsthand report of how a tornado damaged her gardening business in Balch Springs. She later organized Barn Aid, a concert to benefit people who experienced damage at a nearby apartment complex.
Carolyn Campbell provides regular updates on goings-on in DeSoto. Whether it’s a graduation or a visit by a presidential candidate, if it’s happening in the Best Southwest area, you know Carolyn will be there and will post a story, a photo and/or a video about it on neighborsgo.com.
Kevin John Phillips muses frequently about the joys of being 50. Speaking of muses, Sandee Lyles, not a writer by profession, found her inner poet by starting a blog on neighborsgo.com.
Hundreds of students and educators contributed to our Student Edition in May. LuAnn Bergman of Dallas has posted videos reporting a gas-line break, remembering the space shuttle tragedy and meeting Elvis. Dena Miller posted an after-party article about meeting Paris Hilton that as of this writing continues to be the most-clicked story in neighborsgo.com history. And what doesn’t "best contributor" David Alvey cover?
So what do all these folks have to do with our Neighbors Choice edition?
It’s simple – by sharing their experiences with us, they are sharing their lives with us and connecting with their communities. When you nominated and voted for your favorite businesses and services, you did the same thing.
So what are you waiting for? Ready to get published in neighborsgo? Start posting on neighborsgo.com!
We know how many choices you have and how little time you have to make them. On behalf of the entire organization, I’d like to thank you for making time for neighborsgo and neighborsgo.com.
