On June 16th at a pseudo official ceremony at the Elk’s Lodge, Boy Scout Troop 707 came to the rescue of a Girl Scout by presenting her with a brand new camera. The Girl Scout, JJ Pair, had used her old Oympus camera for over four years, the past two helping with PR for Lake Highlands Elementary, LHHS Highlandettes and BS Troop 707.
The camera, which was the instrument responsible for many pictures taken of Troop 707’s endeavors, particularly their flags, finally gave up the ghost. It ceased to function at the ‘Turning Point Nation’ Bachman Lake event Pair was attending on June 7th.
Troop mom Hilary Puckett learned of the camera’s demise and the next thing Pair knew, Troop 707 had purchased her a new Canon PowerShot.
Pair, along with her daughter and photo assistant Elsa, attended the Troop’s regular meeting at the Lodge, with a thank you cake in tow. The younger Pair was happy to take the first photo of Troop 707 with the new digital.
