The Irving Independent School District Board of Trustees authorized the purchase of 500 Hewlett-Packard 6515b laptop computers for teachers, and the purchase of 3,900 Dell D530 laptop computers for students during its regular scheduled meeting June 16. The total cost to the district is $3,990,550 and computers will be paid for from Technology Bond funds.
Currently Irving ISD provides a laptop for each high school student as part of its one-to-one program, and the new computers will replace Dell student models 4100, C540, and student and teacher models D505 that are out of warranty.
