Rotary Club of Duncanville will host a flag dedication ceremony in honor of David Bahrenburg on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Rotary Park, 903 W. Wheatland, Duncanville, Texas. There will be a short program with David Bates, Lt. Col, USAF (RET) presenting an inspiring monologue “Salute to Old Glory” with a reception to follow. The public is invited to attend.

David Bahrenburg was a resident of Duncanville and member of the Duncanville Rotary Club for many years. David worked tirelessly and to develop and promote the successful flag program in Duncanville as well as in many other Rotary Clubs in this district. He was the CEO of Bridgepoint Communications, Inc and a member of the Allen, Texas Rotary Club at the time of his death in October 2007.

The Duncanville Rotary Club’s Flag program began in 1999 with less then 100 subscribers, today there are over 900 subscribers. The flag program gives Duncanville residents an opportunity to show their pride and love for our country. It gives our community a great patriotic spirit and at the same time helps so many people in our city. This is a service project of the Duncanville Rotary Club. Rotarians are dedicated businessmen and women, active and retired, who provide humanitarian service to people throughout the world and in the local community. The proceeds are used to support the following Rotary service projects: Literacy programs, student recognition, scholarships, scouting, the Duncanville Outreach Ministry, Special Olympics, Project Graduation and many more worth while projects.
