Marching Music’s Major League™ marches its way into Dallas, TX 

           
The 32nd Annual North Texas Festival of Drums and Bugles, presented by Time Warner Cable, will come to Dallas, TX on July 17, 2008 at 7:30 PM at Lake Highlands High School’s Wildcat-Ram Stadium. A local stop on Drum Corps International’s Summer Music Games Tour that covers over 135 cities nationwide, the event will feature several of the world’s top drum and bugle corps in competition.  The Lake Highlands Area Band Club, including over 200 parent and student volunteers, has served as a Drum Corps International Tour Event Partner and hosted the event for the past 31 years, according to Steve Hedrick, Chair of Publicity for the band club and Tour Event Partner co-chair.  "The North Texas Festival of Drums and Bugles serves as a fundraiser for the Lake Highlands area band programs and presents a wonderful opportunity to see some of the finest drum and bugle corps in the world in a fun, family-friendly environment," says Mr. Hedrick. “The achievements of these exceptional young performers are remarkable and quite spectacular."

Ten corps will perform at the event including: Blue Devils of Concord, CA; Blue Knights of Denver, CO; Santa Clara Vanguard of Santa Clara, CA; Madison Scouts of Madison, WI;  Crossmen of San Antonio, TX; Mandarins of Sacramento, CA; Phantom Regiment of Rockford, IL; Pacific Crest of Diamond Bar, CA; Pioneer of Milwaukee, WI; and Frontier of Denton, TX.

In addition to Time Warner Cable, sponsors for this year's event include KTVT CBS 11, TXA 21, WRR 101.1 FM, Saturn of Mesquite, and DoubleTree Hotel-Campbell Centre.

Tickets for the 32nd Annual North Texas Festival of Drums and Bugles, presented by Time Warner Cable, start at $20 and are available at www.dallasdci.com or at the stadium ticket office on the day of the event.
