Area fifth graders had a blast at this year’s version of Vacation Bible School designed just for them. With a pier, sand volleyball pit, and water sports, this high-energy week of fun and games did not disappoint.
“I’m having a blast,” said 10-year old Matthew Daniel, while attending Beach Blast at Lake Pointe Church in mid-June. It’s easy to see from these photos that all of the kids did.
A Power-filled VBS: Full of “Aha” Moments
While the fifth graders were enjoying their beachy adventures, nearly 3,200 younger children experienced “Power Lab,” a power-packed week of VBS where children learned that Jesus gives us the power to…help others, among other points.
“Ah haaa,” they would respond, whenever they heard the point for the day.
With the assistance of nearly 500 volunteers, these kindergarten through fourth grade students not only had fun “aha” moments, they also raised approximately $9,000 (in change) to help purchase school supplies for the community’s upcoming Back to School Fair. In this way, they truly did have the power to help others. “Ah haaa….”
