Animals were flying out of the new Rockwall Animal Adoption Center Monday June 30. Following a successful grand opening ceremony, two dogs, one puppy, two kittens and one cat were adopted in one day, according to Animal Services Supervisor Chris Valentine.
Many more folks were coming back for second and third looks.
Nearly 2,000 people attended the opening of the new adoption center. In addition to a tour of the new building, visitors received a preview of all the dogs and cats available for adoption. When the Rockwall Animal Services department officially opened the building for business at 8am the following Monday, the flurry of adoptions began.
There is no doubt: Rockwall loves its animals!
Even if you missed the grand opening, drop by the beautiful new facility at 1825 Airport Road. An Animal Services officer will be glad to show you around. Don’t be surprised, however, if you find yourself adopting a new dog or cat. Love is definitely in the air at the new adoption center!
