Dallas Diamonds Pep Rally for Championship Game

0 Ratings / 0 Comments

The Dallas Diamonds are having a pep rally this Saturday, July 19th from Noon-3:00PM at Stroud’s FitnessCenter, 416 West Bedford Euless Road in Hurst. We will be serving food and drinks, selling team merchandise, having a bounce house for children, and cheering our Dallas Diamonds on to their National Championship game in Chicago. Players and Coaches will be available for pictures and signing autographs. The pep rally is free although we are asking for a ‘love’ donation towards our Championship travel and expenses. Please bring your family and join the fun!

The Dallas Diamonds are strong women in a man’s world. They know how to dominate and win on the football field. They are undefeated in the regular season (8-0) and on their way to the Championship game. After blasting the once unstoppable Seattle Majestics (8-0) 38-6, the Diamonds make their fourth visit to the Championship game in five years. And, while the players continue to focus on football, the team management is trying to figure out discount travel options to get the team on the playing field, “ I think that the team, as in the players, don’t worry about the financial backing. They worry about playing football.” says Amy Ashkinazy, Player Relations Director for the Diamonds. “It’s the front-office that worries about the finances. It just makes our nights very restless because we are always worried and thinking of ways to get the players and the coaches to the games.”

Facing the reality of a lack of financial backing, however, several players and Coaches have already booked their own tickets to Chicago for the Championship game. They do not want to forfeit the game nor repeat the travel waiting game they experienced going to Seattle for the Western Conference Championships. Some players and Coaches spent nearly 16 to 20 hours in the airport trying to get a flight to Washington.

Needing the home town to get behind the home team, the Diamonds are looking for sponsors to ‘adopt a player’ to get them to the game. Sponsors can either purchase a ticket for the player, donate miles, or donate money towards travel expenses. “The more team members we take, the more weapons we have, and the more weapons we have, the greater our chances of bringing DFW another World Championship Title,” says Holly Headen Offensive Guard for the Diamonds.

The Dallas Diamonds are the most successful professional sports franchise in Texas in the 21st Century. With three World Championship titles (O4’, O5’, 06’) since their inception in 2002, the women of the gridiron are on a quest for a 4th World Title. The will face the Chicago Force in Chicago on July 26th for the Championship game.
