Laryssa Bonacquisti, of Rockwall Texas, just got home from the 32nd Annual VentHaven Ventriloquist convention in Kentucky, however she came home with an important addition to her calendar for November. Laryssa was asked by Terry Fator to open for him when he comes to the Bass performance Hall in November of this year.
Laryssa, a DallasChristianAcademy 8th grader, has been singing and performing with her puppets since she was six years old, but has always been too busy in the summers to make the convention in Kentucky. This year was different and she was very excited to be able to go. Little did she know that world renown talent, Terry Fator had a similar dream to go the convention. Terry told the attendees of the convention that he has always wanted to come but it was either eating or convention, and working to eat always had won out. God’s plan seemed to be working behind the scenes. Terry happened to be a the convention the same day that they had a Junior Open Mike session, which Laryssa several months ago had secured the 10th and last slot to perform. Laryssa performed, Mr. Fator watched, and three hours later with a camera crew in tow asked Laryssa to open for him at the Bass Performance Hall in November.
Laryssa, when asked how she felt about this offer, was still in shock. “This is an incredible opportunity to perform on the stage with the greatest talent of our time, I still cannot believe this is happening.” “My dad and I did not even know that Mr. Fator was going to be at the convention, and we really did not ever think he would be watching the Open Mike session.” “ My head is in the clouds right now, but I know I have a lot of work ahead of me to get prepared.”
