Foltyn Sets Plaza Theatre On Fire With Elvis Tribute

1 Rating / 1 Comment

Jack Foltyn's "Coming Home" A Tribute to Elvis premiered this last weekend bringing Elvis fans out of the woodwork to the Plaza Theatre in Garland.  Going into this show, I got so much more than I expected!  Foltyn is not just another man imitating the King of Rock and Roll.  He is a man who brings the spirit of the King into your hearts throught music and through dance.  Wow!  Dance there was.  The dancers where great and that includes Mr. Foltynas well.  I don't believe Elvis could ever dance like that.  Jack Foltyn the show's creator, choreographer, and star brought in Mary Jane Hawkins to help co-choreograph, coordinate the dancers as well as dance in the show.  Come and expect such favorites as "One Night", "Can't Help Falling In Love", "Return to Sender", and they brought down the house with an electric "Rubberneckin".  I had the chance to go see both the main and gospel shows.  If you asked me to choose which one I liked better I wouldn't be able to.  They were two completely different shows that were both amazing!  Don't expect just one song after another, but a story to follow along.  Mr. Foltyn takes Elvis on a journey to find his girl.  He tries searching for her everywhere and nowhere in between reality and dreams to finally find her where he least expects.  If you have always wanted to take a trip with Elvis I would make sure to reserve a ticket for next weekend.  I know I definitely will and don't forget about the gospel show either.  I know what you are saying...why would I want to go listen to those dull gospel and christian songs.  No need to have those thoughts, Foltyn delivers upbeat, hands raised in the air spirituals and heart-warming songs that bring tears of joy to your eyes, not to mention goosebumps all over.  I left that show feeling uplifted and rejuvenated.  "If you closed your eyes you would believe it was Elvis himself", "I didn't know Elvis could dance like that", "I think Foltyn does Elvis better than Elvis himself"...these were some comments that were being spread around in the long line waiting for Mr. Foltyn's autograph after the show.  Jack Foltyn brings the best of Elvis, which all the hardcore fans cherish, with a modern twist, which brings Elvis into the hearts of the younger generation who never got to experience the King himself.  You have one more weekend to experience these great shows.  This weekend also includes two concert shows.  A Las Vegas concert on Saturday evening and a Vegas/Gospel concert on Sunday evening.  Did I hear there will be a band with horns and strings?  How does Jack Foltyn do it?  I don't know but I will definitey be there this weekend to find out.

July 25 @ 7;30pm and July 26 @2pm is the main show, July 27 @ 2pm is the gospel show, July 26 @ 7:30pm is the Las Vegas concert, and July 27 @7:30pm is the Vegas/Gospel concert.  Plaza Theatre, 521 W. State Street in Garland, Texas.  For more info and reservations call 972-239-3657 or log onto www.ftaproductions.com.
