One of the perks of submitting your family's story of "passing the faith" is that you could win a really cool prize.
The longer-term benefits of having a story to share are the effects it has on your marriage, your children, your parents, your community, and even the world.
So, what in the world am I talking about? I'm talking about a contest that Lake Pointe Church's HomePointe ministry is sponsoring called the "Summer of Intentionality" contest. Families are welcome to submit stories in several categories. These submissions are shared with the community through HomePointe.org/blog and prizes are awarded for creativity, intentionality, and sheer goodness.
The HomePointe Center, located inside Lake Pointe’s Rockwall campus, and the online version (HomePointe.org) exist to help you build a strong, God-honoring family one step at a time. Resources for all life seasons have helped hundreds of families become more intentional about building a better marriage and about passing a strong Christian heritage to their children and grandchildren.
To participate in this summer's contest, share a brief story of how you or someone you know has been “intentional” at home (for submission examples, visit homepointe.org/blog). The HomePointe team will review each submission and prizes will be granted in the following categories.
□ INTENTIONAL OR BUST! – Anyone in any life season (child, teen, single, married, parents, grandparents) trying to be intentional at home.
□ MOST ROMANTIC PARENTS – A child or teen sharing a story (or drawing a picture) of their mushy parents.
□ THE MANLY MAN – A wife, child or teen describing something their husband/father does to model Biblical manhood at home.
□ THE LIFE-GIVING WOMAN – A husband, child or teen affirming something their wife/mom does to create a nurturing environment at home.
□ HOME HEROES – How someone you know gives of themselves in a challenging family situation (i.e. child with special needs, caring for an aging loved-one, etc.).
□ BUILDING FROM SCRATCH – Someone who had a poor faith model growing up who is breaking the cycle by passing a strong faith to their own children.
The Contest ends August 31.For details, visit HomePointe.org/contest
