USA Martial Arts Leadership Academy students support our troops
This summer students of USA Martial Arts Leadership Academy adopted Texan LTC Juan Montoya. What makes this story special is that LTC Juan Montoya is a soldier in the Army and has been in Kabul for over a year now. He extended his tour of duty for an additional year because he truly believes he is making a difference. He is scheduled to return to Texas in May of 2009.
In his spare time he volunteers with a program called the Volunteer Community Relations program on camp. This is a group of servicemen and women that volunteer their free time to distribute goods to the local Afghans. Our Leadership students at USA Martial Arts Leadership Academy are collecting supplies and goods and with the help of Scout Leader Olivo we are able to send our goods to LTC Montoya to join this program. It's a great program and one that really "makes a difference" in the lives of the students at USA Martial Arts Leadership Academy as well as others around the world.
