IBOC finished the 4th of 7 weeks of Tithing Our Time. This is a full week of the service studying The Word of God. Friday was our 70's night and just about the whole church dressed the era. Pastor Rush said we all had to go through our past, all the things that we use to do to get to our future. Pastor Rush lead us through "The Parable of the Growing Seed" from the Message bible it reads "The farmer plants the Word. Some people are like the seed that falls on the hardened soil of the road. No sooner do they hear the Word than Satan snatches away what has been planted in them. All seeds were good that the farmer planted it was not just the storm that came along but your reaction to it. We sometimes don't see the devil fleeing because he knows how to wear down our resistence. He will hit until you stop listening to your coach. Fear Not is listed in the bible 365 times, believe is listed many times. It is important to know your rights as a believer. I you don't believe Jesus you will see satan. You have a right to cry out to God. Cry out to God to be encouraging and not discouraging.
We also have to know what God promises us. God promises us His Peace, John 14.27, I have a choice to let something trouble my heart. God promises us His Joy; we have to follow and obey Him. We confuse joy with happiness. Happiness relates to what you have now or your experiences. Joy relates to who you know. The experience of knowing who I am, you can be in the biggest storm of your life and still have Joy.
If you would like to experience the Joy, our Sunday Services 7:30am, 10:30am & 1:00pm, Monday nights @ 7pm. We broadcast live Sunday's @ 7:30 on K104FM or on the web at www.ibocjoy.org.
You can find more 70's night pictures online.
SAVE THE DATE NEXT: WEEK OF SERVICE September 8-12, 2008.
