On Thursday July 24th, girls from all across the metroplex met at the Renaissance Hotel in Richardson to check in for the American Dance and Drill Team Association's annual line camp. Line camp helps drill teams practice and learn the routines they will perform at their school sporting events during the school year.
The Sachse HS Swingsters varsity drill team, directed by Brittany Shaver, also participated in this line camp. Each day, the Swingsters woke up early to begin practices and they continued their practices until after 1:00am. The long hours of practice could not shake the determination of the Swingsters.
On Sunday, July 27th, awards were handed out to the teams attending line camp to recognize the best in various categories. The Swingsters were awarded the following:
