Rockwall Native Brittnee Belt to Rock Fundraiser

4 Ratings / 2 Comments
Singing sensation Brittnee Belt will perform on Sunday, Aug. 17, at the 2008 Harley and Friends “Skate for Hope” benefiting the Starlight Children’s Foundation at the Parks Mall in Arlington.

Twenty-one year-old Rockwall native Brittnee Belt is a singer, songwriter, recording artist and student at both the University of North Texas and the Studio for Artist Training.

Singing since she was four years-old, Brittnee has appeared in a number of plays and musicals, performs regularly in the North Texas area and is currently in the studio recording an album entitled “Identity” to be released in 2009. After an intensive six-month search, Brittnee put together a band she feels will take her music to the next level. Members include Craig Alderson - drums, Michael Danser - lead guitar, Chris Koliba - guitar, Mike Robinson - bass and Casey Romanski - rhythm guitar.

Brittnee describes her music as “a mix of Avril Lavigne meets Sara Bareilles / Ben Folds that’s really indie yet upbeat.” Her music is described as fun and “gives you that empowered feeling.” In addition to Brittnee’s local gigs, a nationwide tour is on the horizon.

Community service is an important part of Brittnee’s life. At Rockwall High School she was honored for serving 100+ hours of community service. Brittnee continues to give through her sorority and now with Harley Sharrock and the Starlight Children’s Foundation. “Harley found me through MySpace and asked if I’d like to help with her ice skating charity,” said Brittnee. “With 100 percent of the proceeds going to help terminally ill children, I felt honored to be included.”
