Mesquite Mayor John Monaco has declared September as Library Card Sign-Up Month at the Mesquite Public Library. In a brief ceremony at the Mesquite Main Library, Mayor Monaco presented Interim Library Director Jeannie Johnson with the proclamation.  Joining them were Carol Clowdus and her children Shera and Luke, long-time patrons of the library and a family that truly knows the value of a library card.

A library card will provide access to materials such as books, DVDs, books on CD and audiocassette, magazines, computers, and large-type books.  The Mesquite Public LIbrary, at its two locations, will hold a drawing at the end of the month with prizes such as a Town East Mall gift card and a gift certificate from Incredible Pizza.  New cardholders will be eligible for this drawing.
