League of Women Voters Announce Dallas County Sheriff Candidates Forum October 7

The League of Women Voters chapters of Dallas, Irving and Richardson will jointly host a forum for the two Dallas County Sheriff candidates on Tuesday, October 7. The event will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Preston Hollow Elementary School, 6423 Walnut Hill, 3 blocks east of the Dallas North Tollway. The event is open to the public.

The candidates are Democrat Lupe Valdez, the current sheriff, and Republican Lowell Cannaday, former Police Chief of Irving. Brad Watson, Channel 8 (WFAA) reporter, will moderate the forum.

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. The League NEVER supports or opposes any party or candidate. Membership is open to everyone.
