Troop 57 rock climbed and rappelled on their September 19-21 camping trip to Sid Richardson Scout Ranch.  Instructors Mike Baker, Josh Scott, and Trevor Rasmussen trained the boys in the proper techniques and skills to safely rock climb and rappel on the cliffs around Lake Bridgeport.  Proper use of harnesses, knots, ropes and climbing equipment, along with commands and signals used by climbers were covered.  After an active day of climbing, Saturday evening concluded with a traditional Troop 57 campfire program.  Following a brief Sunday morning service, the troop returned home.  Troop 57 is chartered by First United Methodist Church of Garland.
