LH Marching Band Receives Grand Champion Award

0 Ratings / 0 Comments
The Lake Highlands High School Wildcat Marching Band earned top honors, receiving the overall Grand Champion award at Midlothian Marching Showcase on Saturday, October 4th at Midlothian ISD Stadium.  After enduring a long 14-hour day of both prelims and finals, Lake Highlands surpassed 14 other regional bands in overall points late Saturday night to reach the top spot.

In addition to the top award, the LH marchers earned best overall honors in color guard, drum line, marching drill, winds and best in class for their division.  “And, to top it all off, they only put two-thirds of their show on the field tonight”, said Jeff Bradford, Director of Bands, referencing the fact that Lake Highlands, like many schools, have not perfected their entire show at this point of the season.  The band will continue to compete in other regional competitions throughout October.

If you see one of these fine young musicians, please let them know how proud you are of their accomplishment and how well they represented our community last Saturday.
