"One man's trash is another man's treasure," as the old saying goes. Indeed, the popularity of garage sales proves that what's useless to one person can be valuable to another.
And what if you could go "treasure" hunting, knowing the money you spend will serve a higher purpose?
This weekend (Friday & Saturday), friends of Adam and Jenifer Lokey will host a benefit garage sale in the Woodbridge neighborhood of Sachse to raise money for the Richardson couple.
Adam was born with Cystic Fibrosis. His condition has worsened recently, leaving him unable to work, and his treatments have burdened the couple with tremendous medical expenses.
There is no cure for CF. It's a chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system, leading to life-threatening infections. Between the enormous cost of prescription drugs and the hospital bills, the Lokeys need your support.
Cary Arzola and Staci Hunsaker are gathering items from co-workers and trying to spread the word. They will donate all proceeds from their garage sale to the Lokeys to help alleviate some of their financial pressure.
Please stop by, find a treasure or two, and share one as well. The benefit garage sale will coincide with the Bi-Annual Woodbridge Homeowner's Association Neighborhood Garage Sale. Hundreds of Woodbridge homewoners participate in this community-wide garage sale each April and October.
