PIT Parents are the BEST!

Just a follow up on TtechRod story about the Mesquite Marching Festival. The Band's could not do what they do without the Parent Organizations. The parents do so much to help the students.
The Pit is the Percussion that is to big to march with, so it is on the front of the field. The parents help get it on the truck from the school, off the truck at the stadium, to the sidelines, on the field for the show, back off the field and to the truck to get loaded back on and then off the truck at the school. The kids in the Pit help, but it takes a lot of parents to help also.
The Raging Wrangler Band has a great crew this year. It takes a few games to get the hang of it, but we have it down now. Do not try to take flags off the field or our Flag Queen Mechelle will get you. She has that job down to a science with one of the Dad's.
We have a few Dad's that drive the truck, they know how every thing gets back on the truck, so it all fits. We have parents that get water for the kids before the game and then after half-time. The band does not get to enjoy the nachos and cokes. What would Mrs. Jones say if you got cheese on that uniform??? Speaking of uniforms, we have a parent that hemmed and unhemmed the pants.
We all had fun working the Festival this weekend and look forward to the 15th, when we will work the UIL contest for the 3A and 5A schools. GOOD LUCK!
