GallowayElementary School hosted a reception to celebrate the completion of their addition/renovation project. The $12 million project, which was funded by voter-approved bonds, nearly doubled the size of the school.
Galloway family members, former administrators and other officials joined the current Galloway staff in the new library to celebrate the new facility. The school originally opened in 1963 and is named for one of Mesquites early leaders, Bedford F. Galloway.
The project included the addition of more than 40,000 square feet and the renovation of the existing 38,000 square feet. The addition includes the gym, library, administration area, music room, art room, 14 classrooms and a new kitchen. Renovated areas include: cafeteria, computer lab, teacher work rooms, music room, and 23 classrooms. Many areas were updated to be in compliance with various local and state standards.
