The Circle Ten Council, Boy Scouts of America, Top Story Award was presented to 10 adult volunteers at the Tuesday, March 3^rd North Trail District Committee Meeting, held at the Family Life Center of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson. 

To earn the honor, a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, member of a Venture or Varsity unit, or an adult volunteer must have published or aired at least one Scout-related report, article or photo by two different news organizations, or at least two different pieces by a single organization.  Articles can appear in local, school or church publications. 

Award recipients were:

·        Toni Birdsong, Pack 516, Yale Elementary School, Richardson /Far North Dallas

·        Stephen Carpenter, Troop 728, St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Richardson/Far North Dallas

·        John Ostdick, Troop 80, Highland Park Presbyterian Church, ParkCities

·        Nancy Burke, Pack 19, Lovers Lane United MethodistChurch, Preston Hollow/North Dallas

Richardson residents Jeff Sneed, district Program chair; and Debbie Edwards, a member of the district’s Public Awareness Team, made the presentations in front of a wall decorated with neighborsgo covers and inside pages.

“For 99 years, Boy Scouts of America have had tremendous programs for boys and young men and now young women,” said Sneed.  “Thank you to the adult volunteers who help tell our ongoing story through print and broadcast media.”
