The Town, in collaboration with Maguire Partners and ARTSNET, presents hour-long lunch-time concerts this spring in Solana
Westlake, Texas – March 26, 2009 – The Town of Westlake in collaboration with Maguire Partners and ARTSNET, presents a four-part series of FREE hour-long lunchtime concerts, Friday, April 17 and 24, May 1 and 8, from noon to 1 p.m., in the Village Circle Courtyard, Solana Village Center, Hwy. 114 @ Solana Blvd. Exit. The public is invited to bring a bag lunch or enjoy something from one of the Solana restaurants such as Diego's Tex Mex Kitchen, LaScala Italian Restaurant/Joe’s Pizza, Weinberger's Chicago Deli, and Cielo Restaurant. Free shuttle service will be offered to and from major corporate sites located in Solana, courtesy of Maguire Partners-Solana.
“We are excited this year to present the series during the lunch hour, giving workers and community members a great excuse to relax and get outdoors,” said Tom Brymer, Town Manager of Westlake. “We hope people will take advantage of this unique opportunity, bring friends, and enjoy a musical respite from the workday.”
The Master Works Series is designed to offer a variety of quality family entertainment to the community by utilizing the talent of local, regional, and national artists. These free concerts are for arts lovers of all ages and feature instrumental and vocal music ranging from Country & Western to Blues & Jazz with the entertainment of local, regional and national artists.
The Town of Westlake 2009 performers are as follows:
April 17- Fingerprints has been entertainingstanding room-only crowds at clubs and music festivals throughout the Southwest for more than 15 years. Since the 1991 release of the self-titled CD/cassette, “Fingerprints,” the Dallas-based band has expanded its range, garnering regular airplay on jazz and NAC radio stations from Dallas to San Francisco to New York City.
April 24 – Crawfish has shared stages with an unbelievably long list of stars. Notables include: The Temptations, The Beachboys, The Monkees, The Shirelles, The Supremes, The Coasters, The Drifters, The Foundations, Chuck Berry, Leon Russell, Delbert McClinton, Three Dog Night, The Spinners, and Willie Nelson and Family. Their music can be heard on film scores and jingles for companies like McDonald's, Oldsmobile, Isuzu, Mazda and dozens of other radio and television programs.
May 1 - Matt Ingram brings his soulful rhythms and rhymes to his audience with a sense of pure honesty and strong conviction. His sultry voice is focused to ease the souls and lift the hearts of all those who have a strong affection for great music. With a musical background of Country, Rock, Funk, Soul and Blues, he produces a steady stream of what we have come to know as true American music. Like a melting pot, Matt has embraced various cultures with open arms capturing the very essence of the American way.
May 8 – CANTA R&B is a creative blend of regional Latin, Rock, Blues, Pop and Big Band/Jazz fusion set against Latin instrumentation such as Timbales and Congas. From Big Band to Mowtown, Classic Rock, Disco, 50s Salsa/Tejano, Texas Blues and Top 40 hits...CANTA Rhythm and Brass uses a unique Latin flair to spice up the mix.
This year the concerts are sponsored by Atmos Energy. A fall series will also be offered in the same location, Thursday evenings from 6 – 7 p.m., beginning October 1.
