Circle Ten Council, Boy Scouts of America, recently presented the Silver Beaver award to Lance Pool and Kimberly Colonnetta for outstanding character and noteworthy service to Boy Scouts at the Troop, District, and Council levels.
Mr. Pool and Ms. Colonnetta were among 23 adult volunteers who received the prestigious recognition at the recent Circle Ten Council annual banquet held at the Plano Centre. A national Scout award, the Silver Beaver is the highest honor a Council can bestow on an adult volunteer.
Lance Pool
Mr. Pool is Activities chair, Circle Ten Council Executive Board, and past North Trail District chair. North Trail District consists of Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Venture Crews and Varsity units in Lake Highlands, North Dallas, the Park Cities, Preston Hollow, and Richardson.
Mr. Pool is an Eagle Scout and a Brotherhood member, Order of the Arrow, which honors outstanding Scout campers. He has completed Wood Badge, advanced Scout adult-leader training, and has been a staff member for several Wood Badge courses. Mr. Pool will be Scoutmaster and Course Director of an upcoming Wood Badge course as well as an Assistant Scoutmaster for the 2010 National Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill, Va.
Mr. Pool also is an Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 82, Highland Park Presbyterian Church. His son, Matt, is a Troop 82 Life Scout and an Ordeal member, Order of the Arrow.
Mr. Pool, an attorney, is the Executive Director and a Shareholder of the law firm Baron & Budd, P.C.
Kimberly Colonnetta
Ms. Colonnetta now is North Trail District chair and past Activities chair, Circle Ten Council Executive Board. She is Wood Badge trained and has been a staff member for several Wood Badge courses. In addition, she is Scoutmaster and Course Director of Wood Badge 90, which will be held in August 2009 at Philmont Scout Ranch, Cimarron, N.M.
Her Scouting involvement began when her oldest son, Michael, joined Cub Scouts. He is now a Troop 82 Life Scout and an Ordeal member, Order of the Arrow. Son Damon, a Star Scout, and son Jack, a First Class Scout, are members of Troop 577, St. Luke’s Episcopal School. Ms. Colonnetta is a Troop 82 and Troop 577 Committee member.
