Hundreds of cheering supporters lined the parade route on Friday, April 24th as preschoolers walked behind colorful banners they created to honor their teachers, parents and community leaders.
Dallas City Fire Chief Eddie Burns, Sr., State Representative Yvonne Davis, and DISD Board Trustee Ron Price are among local dignitaries who joined the preschoolers’ parade route, showing their support for programs and policies promoting quality early childhood education. The James Madison High School Marching Band, storybook characters ‘Winnie the Pooh’ and ‘Alice in Wonderland,’ and mascot McGruff the Crime Dog marched alongside youngsters. Local TV and Radio Personality Eurro Stevens served as the parade’s Honorary Grand Marshal.ChildCareGroup, a United Way agency, is one of Dallas’ oldest and largest non-profit agencies dedicated to providing quality child care for low-income families. ChildCareGroup joins hundreds of local organizations around the country in celebrating Week of the Young Child.
