Cole Glasson Makes Podium in WKA Event in Indiana

2 Ratings / 0 Comments
Cole and his new National Race Team (Alonso Kart USA) owned by DeFrancesco Racing traveled to South Bend, Indiana, this past weekend to compete in the World Karting Association’s Man Cup National Race. The team arrived on Thursday to prepare the new Alonso Karts (named from the Formula 1 Driver, Fernando Alonso) and learn the track. It was a hectic couple of days as the team changed the cars dramatically to get them going as fast as possible for race day.

On Friday night, Cole competed in the Rotax race where he faced several of the best drivers in the Nation as well as local track favorites. Cole did not disappoint as he ended up finishing second on the podium along with two of the biggest names in the Cadet field of Santino Ferruci and Derek Sobel. On Saturday and Sunday, Cole and his teammate, Devlin DeFrancesco continued to tune in the karts and get faster in the field. While they were not front runners in the 34 car field, they continued to make significant gains through the weekend and both got up in the top 20 by the time the weekend finished. Look for the two young drivers to do very well in the next National Race in New Castle, Indiana.

Cole would like to give special thanks to the DeFrancesco / Alonso Kart Race team, specifically Andy DeFrancesco, Bobby Wilson, Ben Cruttenden, Dave Tennyson, and Doug Sharp.

Cole will be traveling to Norman, Oklahoma next weekend for the next SWRC Regional Series Race and then will be in Indianapolis testing the following weekend with the Alonso Kart USA Team to prepare for the next Stars of Karting National Race at the end of the month.

Cole is sponsored by Alonso Kart USA which is owned by DeFrancesco Racing, Frozen Fire Films, Glasson Racing,  MMS Race Engines, The Kart Shop, Kart Racing Solutions, Polar Graphics, Moonshadow Auto Salon and Tyler Web Design.
