Dallas Dietetic Association Honors Outstanding Members

At the Dallas Dietetic Association’s (DDA) last meeting of the year on May 13, 2009, President Carina Saez presented awards to registered dietitian members for outstanding achievement in their careers and on behalf of the organization.  Honored with the association’s highest award was Delia Solis, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award.  Delia is the Clinical Nutrition Manager at Parkland Health and Hospital System.  Three DDA members were recognized for being among the five recipients of the Texas Dietetic Association’s 2009 Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year (RYDY) Award: Alicia Brown, Health and Wellness Marketing Manager for Market Street supermarkets, Kendal Ecker, Assistant Director of Patient Nutrition Services at Baylor University Medical Center and Lisa Reed, Clinical Dietitian at Baylor UMC.  Also honored were Elizabeth Schaub, Outpatient Dietitian for Baylor Medical Center in Plano, as Outstanding Volunteer; Michelle Negri, Research Dietitian at UT Southwestern Medical Center, as Outstanding Board Member and Neva Cochran, Nutrition Communications Consultant, as Media Award recipient.

The Dallas Dietetic Association, with over 200 members who are primarily registered dietitians, provides science-based food and nutrition expertise to Dallas area citizens.
