STAFF REPORT

The HeightsBaptistChurch was chosen by our readers as the winner of this year’s Neighbor’s Choice award as “Best Place to Worship” for the neighborsgo edition covering Richardson and Far North Dallas.

It is the second consecutive year The Heights has won the reader vote in this category.

John Wills, executive pastor, said he felt “humbled, honored and blessed” by the selection, adding, “We also realize there are a lot of great churches in Richardson.”

We invited Wills to tell our readers more about the 54-year-old church.

Why do you think The Heights was named a Choice award winner?

The reason people love The Heights so much is because it feels more like a family than a big church. It seems that it has kept that feel from the days when it was much smaller.

What do you think this award says about The Heights?

Hopefully it says that more and more we are becoming the people that God wants us to be for our community, our world and our fellowship.

Why do you view this award as worthwhile?

Obviously, we want people to connect with us, to carry out the ministry that God has called us to – with each other, our community and the world.

What is the most important thing for our readers to know about The Heights?

This is a safe place. We worship, grow, serve and share together. Come as you are.

What advice would you offer to others who aspire to be a Choice winner?

Just be who you are.
