Where can you find all-day breakfast, Jewish deli selections and a distinct Southern feeling?
Only
at Cindi’s New York Delicatessen, a 20-year dining tradition in Dallas with five
locations.
Cindi’s
is a restaurant of contradictions. Owned and managed by Anh Vo, the restaurant
serves fluffy omelets and savory waffles as well as Philadelphia cheese steaks and Matzo ball
soups.
You’d
think an eclectic menu would indicate a drop in quality, but that’s not the
case at Cindi’s.
“We
have a good variety of food, and we are consistent. I hire the best chefs to do
the job,” Vo said.
Each
chef has their own expertise; head chef Jerry Jones, Basil Stergios and Joel
Gilbert specialize in the deli, and Louis Vachier and Fernando Munoz are the
bakers of the team.
They
all work from scratch with only fresh ingredients and they even order fish
straight from New York City
and pick it up at the airport every week.
Breakfast
is served all day at Cindi’s, but if you’re looking for a comfortable
neighborhood vibe, the best time to go is in the morning.
Sit
and people watch as customers come in and out, reading their papers and
conversing with waitresses and other diners in the next booth.
Vo
says a good staff, attentive chefs and being open-minded and flexible have kept
customers coming back for 20 years.
“We
try to improve all the time,” Vo said. “I love what I do so much. If we make
the customers happy, that’s what’s important.”
