Shop’s flowers still flourish 31 years later

Priscilla Rogers opened her little flower shop in Irving 31 years ago. And it’s still there.

“My favorite thing is creating the arrangement to fit the occasion because it expresses the sender’s message that they want to get across to the recipient,” she said. “They’re sending their message with style.”

Priscilla’s Flower Shoppe offers fresh-cut flowers, plants, custom arrangements, corsage work, bouquets, fruit baskets and balloons for any occasion, Rogers said.

Rogers’ top five occasion recommendations:
1. Birthdays: Colorful arrangements with lot of balloons are the way to go.
2. Anniversaries: Roses. One rose for each year being celebrated is unique and special.
3. Funerals: Personal things. Gardening tools, fishing equipment, even Harley memorabilia – whatever was special to that person.
4. Births: Door decorations, gift baskets, musical containers, plush animals.
5. Graduations: Balloons – in school colors, of course – flashy arrangements, things in which the graduate can relate.
