Megan Condrack opened her women’s apparel store in Parker Square five years ago, selling designer clothes, lingerie, pajamas, swimsuits, jewelry, home décor and children’s clothes.
How long has Megan’s at Parker Square been around?
“I’ve owned some type of store in Parker Square for nine years. Nine years ago, I opened Little Boutique West, a children’s store. And then five years ago, I opened Megan’s right next door. Last year, we combined the two.”
Why did you decide to open the store?
“When we first moved to Flower Mound, there was hardly anything up here —no children’s stores, only one boutique. My in-laws own a children’s store, so they talked me into it. I didn’t have any background in retail, but I learned the hard way.”
What can women find in your store?
“Fun, dressier tops, and various designers and jeans. It’s constantly changing. I’m always looking for new lines that aren’t in department stores. I even have a jewelry designer who makes jewelry to match the clothes.
“I keep close track of the girls who shop here to make sure they don’t buy the same top as their girlfriends. For special events or if I know they’re getting together for a certain reason, I’ll write down what the girls buy. Then they’ll know if their best friend bought the same shirt.”
What makes Megan’s different?
“I think the personal attention and being in the same center for as long as I have. You become like family with the customers. Even if you’re not in the mood to shop and you just need girlfriends to hang out with, it’s a great place to come.”
