Northwood University signs Lake Highlands High School graduate

CEDAR HILL – The Northwood University golf team announces the signing of Andrew Weinberger - a 2009 graduate of Lake Highlands High School in Richardson. Gary Belt, Northwood’s Golf coach, said Weinberger will contribute extensive junior golf and high school experience. He called Weinberger “a great addition to our team.”

Weinberger had a direct connection to Northwood and the golf team. His swing coach, Chris Syjansky, is a 1999 graduate of the Northwood University and a member of the Knights Golf team. "I knew Syjansky before I became the coach," Belt said. "It's really cool to still have the connection from alumni."

Weinberger will have an opportunity to compete for a spot in the team's top-5 this fall.

“We graduated three seniors from our top six players last year,” Belt said. “Andrew has the potential to fight for one of the top positions immediately.”

Andrew Weinberger, front, joined with his father, Brian and mother, Marilyn, as he signs to become part of Northwood’s golf team.
