Dear Oprah, give me Hope-rah! :)
I am just your average high school teacher and coach trying my hardest to get the word out about my (healthy) Oprah obsession. I'm hoping that through this, I will somehow grab the attention of someone with connections to Oprah, or maybe even Oprah herself.
I have been teaching at Rockwall High School for 5 years and every year I do various things to incorporate Oprah into my lessons. We watch her dvd collection for the news stories, we make "Oprah Day" shirts, and we even have daily "Oprah‑tunities" to discuss whatever is on our mind. To make matters more interesting, my classes from 2 years ago pitched in to buy me 2 LIFE SIZED cardboard Oprah cutouts. I use one as a hall pass, and the other is hanging on my wall. I realize I am on the borderline of earning a restraining order with these admissions, but I have to give you the whole picture here so you know this is a lifelong quest worthy of some media attention :)
I am posting some pictures of my cardboard Oprahs, my Oprah hall pass, and my students in their Oprah Day shirts. (by the way, I have more pictures in my album at school of my kids with Oprah shirts, but these are the only ones I have on this computer)
To view more Oprah-fun, you can also go to the website www.myspace.com/wheresoprah to see the myspace my kids set up when they stole my Oprah hall pass and took her
to various destinations around Texas! (just google the above link) If that's not enough to convince you of our "O"ppreciation, just go to youtube and search for "Rockwall Oprah."
Putting my selfishness aside, I'm hoping this will turn out to be a great lesson for my kids about the power of dreaming big.
