0 Ratings / 0 Comments
The Nicholson Memorial Library System’s Senior Social Hour presents Gwen Caldwell and her “Stories for the Second Half of Life”, on Tuesday, November 10,  at 2:00 p.m., at the Central Library, 625 Austin Street, in downtown Garland.

Gwen Caldwell has been sharing her love of stories for over 17 years, and has performed at various venues throughout the country, including storytelling festivals, corporate programs and leadership workshops.  Ms. Caldwell created a series of programs for mature adults entitled “Stories for the Second Half of Life”, which focuses on characteristics required of people as they enter midlife if they hope to age gracefully and with purpose.  Her stories address what really happens “ever after”.

Ms. Caldwell is a certified educator and the founder of the Richardson/Plano Storytelling Guild, now known as the North Forty Storytellers.  She is also on the roster of the Texas Commission of the Arts as a Touring Artist.  She believes that “storytelling is at the heart of the human experience”, and her storytelling will leave listeners wanting more.

Senior Social Hour is a series of events designed for adults ages 55 and older, and is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.  The events are free and include door prizes, and light refreshments.  Seating is on a first come, first served basis.  Doors open 30 minutes prior to performance.  Please call 972-205-2502 for more information.
