The Sachse Swingsters proudly announce the Swingsters of the Week for October 22nd, 2009.
SWINGSTERS OF THE WEEK:
Morgan Strenger -
This is my third year on Swingsters. Sarah Thurmon got me interested in dance my freshman year and it became my goal to be a Swingster.
I don’t have any other activities outside of drill team.
I’ve gained more confidence in myself being a Swingster and I have a bunch of new friends.
My favorite subject in school is English. I love to read and write stories and I’m a sucker for poetry.
After high school, I want to go to Texas Tech and become an OB/GYN.
I love everyone on this team!
Ayesha Rodgers -
This is my first year on Swingsters. I enjoy dancing and performing. I also believe becoming involved in extra curricular activities enhances the high school experience. Therefore, joining the drill team was a great way to get involved at school.
Outside of Swingsters, I am currently the treasurer of Xinos Youth Group, Mount Hebron Baptist Church True Praise Ministry and Glory Dancers.
Some of the most important things I have gained from being on Swingsters is Friendship, Conditioning, and Responsibility.
For my favorite subjects, it is a tie between math and science. I want to become a food scientist due to my love of math and science.
I plan to attend Prairie View A&M University majoring in agriculture. I also plan to earn a PhD in Food Sciences from Texas A&M.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMER OF THE WEEK:
Emily Hume -
I have been involved with the Swingsters since May 2009. I became interested in this last year on Lariats when we would watch them perform at halftime during the varsity games.
Swingsters is currently the only activity I participate in.
I have gained new friends and a stronger work ethic with a specific purpose.
My favorite subjects are istory and theater.
After high school, I would like to be a teacher or a makeup artist.
OFFICER OF THE WEEK
Sr Lt Ashley Vaden -
I have been a member of the Swingsters for three years. I always watched the Swingsters practice when I was on Lariats and always looked up to them. I thought it would be an awesome experience.
I have gained so much from Swingsters. Friendship is the most important one though. I love my drill team friends.
I really like math. I enjoy the challenge. And I’m really good at it.
I plan on going to Richland Junior College for the 1st 2 years then will go to UNT the last two.
I LOVE DRILL TEAM!
