On a cold and rainy Monday evening, the mighty Ranger band earned their 19th consecutive ONE in Marching UIL Competition. The band members worked so hard toward this since the first of August. So, for all the run throughs on hot humid days (and certainly many rainy days) - CONGRATULATIONS! From the "new" freshmen marchers to the "experienced" ones, section leaders, drum majors, Mr. Schnitzer, Mr. Solis, Mr. Rush, Ms. Guyer, and to the parents (chaperones, pit crew, band supporters).....a job well done!
This success is a culmination of 19 years of leadership by Mr. Larry Schnitzer with many different classes of Naaman Forest High school band kids. The congratulations go out not only to the current 2009 band members but also to all those kids over the years who kept the tradition alive. The NF alumni since the 1990 UIL marching competition all share a part of this great success. Over the years, I’m sure there were many times when the band had a few doubts that they could continue the tradition of earning a ONE. However, the band leadership that includes directors, bandleaders, and parents prove their abilities year after year. Not much else can be said except that we (the parents and past alumni) are all so proud of the 2009 NF Ranger band for such a great job earning Sweepstakes!!
