Principals become HUMAN CELEBRATION CAKE
Mockingbird Elementary's annual Write-A-Check fundraising campaign was held over a 2-week period in September, 2009. For the 2nd straight year, the school exceeded the $15,000 goal set for the annual campaign.
To celebrate the achievement, the principals, Pam Mitchell and Debbie Youngs, made good on their promise to become HUMAN CELEBRATION CAKES. They were covered from head to toe with all the necessary ingredients to make them into a human cake...while making a huge mess, as well. Sugar, eggs, syrup, whipped cream, nuts, sprinkles...you name it, and they were covered in it!
Names were drawn on the spot from all Mockingbird students to take turn as our "bakers" for the Celebration Cake Event. To cap off the fun, Mrs. Hall’s 3rd grade class ALL came up to dump the final ingredients on the fearless leaders. This class earned the honor as the first class to reach 100% participation in returning their Write-A-Check participation forms (with or without a donation).
Mockingbird has developed a reputation for being a fun-loving school with a fun-loving staff..what will they do next year when they exceed their goal again?
