On Thursday, November 19, it is time for the Dallas All-City Honor Choir to perform in a concert at Hector Garcia MS. Admission is free for the 7:30 pm concert, but seats will fill up fast. Stonewall Jackson Elementary and Dallas Regional School for the Deaf is proud to have five of its 4th and 5th grade students participate in the choir this year.
2010 marks the 20th year of the All-City Honor Choir. Song selections have been chosen from the past 19 years of All-City Concerts. Numerous conductors of the past, as well as one new addition, will take the baton at the concert this year. The program includes:
1) United We Sing - conducted by Kalva Scott (Music Teacher and Choir
Director at Harry S. Stone Montessori)
2) Rain Dance - conducted by Elaine Thomas (Director of Fine Arts for
DISD)
3) Cantare', Cantaras - conducted by Kalva Scott
4) What's More American - conducted by Gwen Farris (of T.G. Terry)
5) This Little Light - conducted by Elaine Thomas
6) Elijah and Joshua - conducted by Gwen Farris
7) Adoramus Te - conducted by Kevin Hastings (Choir Director at Hector
Garcia MS)
8) Zum Gali Gali - conducted by Kevin Hastings, and Julie Lodi (Music Techer at Stonewall Jackson) on flute
9) Where Is the Peace - conducted by Billy Lawley (of Stephen Foster) with sign language by Stonewall's Signing Stars directed by Joel Hill
10) I’ll Be There -conducted by Billy Lawley
11) Rockin' Robin - conducted by Gwen Farris
12) We Are The Children of Tomorrow - conducted by Elaine Thomas with sign
language by the Stonewall's Signing Stars and the All-City choir, directed by Joel Hill and Julie Lodi
