Hawaiian Falls to launch new “Torpedo” ride at all three parks for 2010 season...invest $2.6 million in DFW
Hawaiian Falls waterparks announced plans to add a new thrill ride to each of its three waterparks in Garland, The Colony and Mansfield for the 2010 season. The new thrill ride will be the first of its kind in the world.
The Torpedo will feature two speed slides coming off a four-story tower. Riders will step into a capsule at the top of the ride. Anticipation will build with a countdown and special effects. When activated, a hatch will open under the riders' feet, turning them into human torpedoes as they free fall at speeds up to 40 mph down the slide.
Created by Whitewater West of Canada, Hawaiian Falls will be the first waterpark in the world to have this ride. Hawaiian Falls will break ground on the new rides next spring.
Coming off of a record breaking 2009 season, Hawaiian Falls will reinvest $2.6 million dollars into the Dallas/Fort Worth economy, including new rides, additional shade and landscaping and more.
Regularly priced at $79.99, season passes for the 2010 season are on sale now starting at $59.99 at www.hfalls.com. Hawaiian Falls waterparks will open to the public Memorial Day weekend.
