Before the Wednesday, March 16, 2010 Dallas ASTD meeting, Shirley Fine Lee will give a free Twitter tutorial at 4:30 PM. The one hour tutorial offered at Sheraton Dallas North Hotel is titled “Who’s afraid to Tweet?” and will cover the basics of using this social networking tool. The group will discuss how to use Twitter for closed group communication such corporate teams or friends and family, as well as using it publicly for marketing and information sharing.
Ms. Lee’s one hour presentation will answer the following questions for potential new users:
- What’s my purpose for using Twitter?
- How do I set-up an account?
- How do I use an account?
- Where can I find commonly used Twitter tools?
- How do I promote I am on Twitter?
- Where can I find out more about using Twitter for my purpose?

After Ms. Lee’s presentation, new chapter members can attend an orientation session from 5:30-6:00. Check-in for members and guest attending the chapter meeting will begin at 6:00. The dinner meeting starts at 6:00 and features Nancy Berry as the guest speaker. Ms. Berry’s topic will be “Closing the Generation Gap”.
