The number of Americans living in poverty has steadily increased over the past 15 years. McKinney is no exception to this statistic. McKinney-based organizations Seed Sowers Ministry and 3e McKinney are working collaboratively to assist families and individuals who face the effects of poverty daily. Both non-profits recently held a ribbon cutting outside their shared office space off Church Street in McKinney to commemorate joining the McKinney Chamber of Commerce. Several Chamber staff and ambassadors were on hand to welcome the nonprofits officially and offer their support and resources.

Likewise, Seed Sowers Ministry and 3e McKinney offered a warm welcome to attendees and showcased their community programs and plans for the future. Staff and volunteers were also well represented at the open-house event, along with individuals affected by their programs.

The event also marked Seed Sowers’ move to the first floor of the Church Street office. 3e McKinney occupies the second floor.

“When half of the office became available, it only made sense for Seed Sowers to move in,” 3e McKinney executive director Larry Robinson said. “We share common goals and I am excited for us to begin working together to achieve them.”

Both organizations are faith-based and rely heavily on volunteers who share their passion of bringing aid and mentorship to those affected by poverty.

“This move has allowed us to get even deeper into the heart of McKinney and its people,” Seed Sowers executive director Elaine Danielson said. “Starting Seed Sowers five years ago was a dream come true, and now with this office and the collaboration with 3e McKinney, we can keep pushing forward and make an even bigger impact on the community.”
