The Tenth Annual Crusader Classic Golf Tournament raised nearly $31,000 to benefit St. John’s Episcopal School. Sponsored by the Crusader Club (the St. John's dads' group) and presented in honor of all teachers who inspire, the tournament took place at on May 6 at Buffalo Creek Golf Club in Rockwall. Ninety-seven players spent an afternoon on the links and returned to the pavilion afterward for dinner donated by Quesa-D-Ya’s and a lively awards ceremony emceed by Crusader Club member Robert Shive and St. John’s Head of School Mark Crotty.

Tournament players and sponsors alike made this year’s event a huge success. View the list of generous tournament sponsors>> The tournament trophy, officially named The Robert Shive Cup this year in honor of Shive’s contributions to the Crusader Club and school, went to the Overall First Place team of Garrett Adams, Chris Rodgers, Kyle Smith and Greg White.

Other finalists included:
Overall Second Place: Steve Christensen, Michael Hasbany, Guy Josselyn and Rod Wright;
Net First Place: Bob Foster, Chris Leap, Dallas Lee and Jason Pumpelly;
Net Second Place: Kirk Gillette, Cindy Isbell, Jansen Smith and John Walker.

The tournament was organized by 2011 Crusader Club Classic Committee members Garrett Adams, Jason Craven, John Dubiel, Robert Shive, Kyle Smith, Chris Speer and Steve Williamson. The Parents Association supported the event by staffing volunteers.

Since the inaugural tournament in 2002, the Crusader Club has raised more than $400,000 for St. John’s. View a list of Crusader Club gifts to the school>>
